Taken near Dorset late last summer ©2008 Michelle Basic Hendry
I thought I would have a mid-winter interlude of summer. I photographed this after a day trip to Algonquin Park on a beautiful warm evening. Its warm colours and peaceful silhouette gave me a little lift and I wanted to share it.
I will be posting a WIP next time. I have the drawings done and I am just getting the first layer of paint on it. The Big Launch is finally planned for one week today!

/ January 31, 2009What a beautiful sky! I see we both have Summer on the mind (although I feel like I’m still in it, to be honest. *L*) Best of luck with the Big Launch! I’m pulling for you!
Michelle
/ January 31, 2009Thanks, Lana! But I know you’ll be enjoying my winter photos in July…

/ January 31, 2009Love that warm sky, gorgeous photo, but I’m still enjoying all the snow (but not the crazy drivers).
Michelle
/ February 1, 2009Thanks!
The snow here is making the town like a maze… I think I need to spend an afternoon in the bush. Winter and civilization can be oppressive!

I know you are tired of snow by now.
Love,

/ February 1, 2009Linda – I think the best thing I can do is take a day off and go out into the bush!

/ February 2, 2009Hello Michelle,
I love the way you compose your images (paintings or photographs) with skies.
I really like this one with its delicate tones and colors and her perfect composition with the sea, land and sky.
Michelle
/ February 2, 2009Wow – Thanks, Patrick! I think skies really are my favourite…

/ February 7, 2009Beautiful…simple, but makes a huge impression…words which come to mind for me are soft, gentle and calming.
I do wish it was end of winter instead of mid-winder!!
Cheers
