The first painting from Muskoka’s Sparrow Beach Lodge is a small one. It is the door hardware on the main entry to the front of the hotel. Only the handle itself remains untouched by layers of paint and shows the wear of decades of hands.

Whispers of winter seep through the walls pushing the songs of summer aside one more time. Beds made and linens tucked away watching shadows lengthen and light fade.
