Winter has certainly made an early entrance and the snow is as deep as it ever got last year. As I look forward to celebrating with my family for the first time in a long while, I had a look back at my post from last Christmas. So many things resonated with me, that I decided to share some of those sentiments again with you, my “blog tribe”, this year.
Today, many around the world, myself included, pause to celebrate Christmas. We gather with the ones we love and share our abundance in whatever form it may take. We are more aware of those less fortunate and of how we behave toward others in general. The spirit of the season is not one thing or another, it is all of these things; the good will, the giving, the compassion, the sharing and the celebration of one of the biggest Christian milestones – the birth of Christ.
I am grateful for so much. For all of the struggles, there is a lot to be thankful for. After a year of challenges on many levels for many people, there is always the promise of a new beginning…
The days get longer now and the sigh of the season will pass into renewed activity. That, too, is a gift. I hope your day is a good one and that the candle of your hopes and dreams shines brightly for 2009.
I’ll be taking a little break for the holidays – I’ll see you all on January 1st!

Merry Christmas Michelle
A beautiful and wonderful post Michelle.

Merry Christmas Michelle!
Hi Michelle,
just discovered your blog on blog catalog (I just subscribed with my other blog on blogger “Art and Interior”) and noticed a couple of familiar names on your blogroll. The world seems ot be very small indeed. How interesting to find the same people all over again.
I like your paintings very much – so very peaceful. And I found some parallels with my own interests – photography.
Wish you a Happy New Year,
and would love to hear from you!
Best regards, Petra
Merry Christmas! Enjoy your holiday break! The moonrise pic looks very appropriate for the season.
Merry Christmas, Michelle. Glad to hear that you were able to be with family this year. What a wonderful gift for all of you! No gift is better than sharing your life and time with those you love. The wealthiest people are those who have the love, caring, compassion and companionship of family. May 2009 bring you new horizons.
Such beautiful images… I’ve only just found your blog. Merry Christmas to you 🙂
As always wonderful photos!!!
I found both this and your last post to be very thought provoking…
You seem to have a way with words…
Even though it is past…Merry Christmas!
