In celebration of the holidays, I thought I would post some of my favourite winter twilight photographs and paintings from the archive – and a poem from Robert Frost. Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday! Enjoy!
See you in 2015…

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
~ Robert Frost (1923)
Have always loved that poem, and now with meditative visuals to go with it. Thanks for another beautiful post and the greetings. The same to you, Michelle: Have a Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year!
Thanks, Arti! It is one of my favourite poems of all time.
Twilight is so beautiful. So is Winter. Merry Christmas, Happy Soltice.
Don’t get much winter down here, just 3 months of November. So I like to revisit it in images. Have a great holiday!
Those are absolutely stunning! Thank you, and happy holidays!
Thanks, Patrick!
No snow for us yet for Christmas this year. I am sure it is waiting in the wings…as I read the poem , I can hear the harness bells and it rings in memories. Thank you Michelle and Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Thanks!!
